What a beautiful postcard of the mimosa! It’s scientific name is Acacia dealbata. The mimosa is usually an ornamental plant in warm areas of the world. The flowers are given to women on International Women’s Day in Albania, Russia, Georgia and Italy. Its leaves are sometimes used in Indian chutney. I looked at the online stamp catalogue I usually go to and found the exact same stamp issued on 2014, June 14 entitled SEPAC Issue – Flowers.
