The Snake Temple（蛇庙） is originally know as the Temple of the Azure Cloud in honour of the beauty of Penang's sky. Built circa 1850, it is one of the oldest temple in Malaysia. It is probaly the only temple of its kind in the world where the prayer hall is filled with the smoke of buming incense and a variety of pit vipers. At the back of the temple, there is a small prayer hall dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin(观音）
